Inside the Valencia Street mint

Inside a Copper branch

Valencia Street was the first Copper mint. It opened in 2026 with 214 founding members, most of whom lived within a few blocks. It still feels like a neighborhood place, which was the plan from the start.

Why we call them mints

A mint is where money gets made. We wanted our branches to be somewhere you'd actually want to spend time, where you could open an account, talk through a loan or just sit down with a coffee. So there are no teller windows, just tables, and a member advisor who comes to you.

Meet the team

The Valencia team is six people, all of whom live in the city. Ask for Rosa if you're buying a home, or Dev if you're starting a business. Ask anyone at all if you just want to know which taco place we're arguing about this week.

  • Open Monday to Friday, 9 to 6, and Saturday, 10 to 2.
  • The drive-up ATM is open 24 hours.
  • Walk in, no appointment needed.

About the coffee

The coffee is free, for members and non-members alike. It started as a drip machine and has slowly turned into a proper espresso bar, because the team kept asking local roasters for advice. The beans change every month, and the current one is posted by the door.

A bank you'd stop into on a Saturday is a bank you'll actually talk to when it matters.

Copper tip: Saturday mornings are the quietest time to sit down with an advisor without waiting.

Come say hello.

1048 Valencia St, and three more mints across the city.
